Here&#8217;s a bit of a twist on tandoori chicken (as I do not have Tandoori oven in my house). Tandoori Style Chicken Wings with a Yogurt Sauce Prep. Time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 25 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients: 1 TB ginger, minced 1 TB ground coriander 1 1/2 ts ground cumin 1 ts ground tumeric 1/2 ts ground cinnamon 1/2 ts salt 1/4 ts cayenne pepper 24 chicken wings Yogurt Sauce: 1 cup whole milk yogurt 2 TB fresh cilantro 1 garlic clove, minced salt cayenne pepper Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. 2. Combine and mix all ingredients except for the chicken. 3. Rub spice mix over chicken wings. 4. Place chicken on baking sheet. Bake in oven for 25 minutes. 5. <p>Tandoori Style Chicken Wings with a Yogurt Sauce<br />
Prep. Time:  5 minutes<br />
Cooking Time:  25 minutes<br />
Serves 4</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<p>1 TB ginger, minced<br />
1 TB ground coriander<br />
1 1/2 ts ground cumin<br />
1 ts ground tumeric<br />
1/2 ts ground cinnamon<br />
1/2 ts salt<br />
1/4 ts cayenne pepper<br />
24 chicken wings</p>
<p>Yogurt Sauce:<br />

<p>Spicy Black Bean Cakes<br />
***Vegetarian Recipe***</p>

Ingredients:</strong><br />
2 TB olive oil<br />
4 green onions, thinly sliced<br />
6 cloves of garlic, pressed<br />
2 jalepeno chilies, chopped<br />
1 TB ground cumin<br />
2 cans (15 oz. each) black beans, drained<br />
salt<br />
black pepper<br />
1 large sweet potato, peeled and grated<br />
1 egg, beaten<br />
1/2 cup bread crumbs</p>
<p>Lime Sour Cream:<br />
1/2 cup sour cream<br />
2 ts fresh lime juice<br />
1 jalepeno chili, minced<br />
salt</p>
<p><strong>Directions:</strong><br />
1. Turn your oven to 475 degrees F or turn on your broiler.  In a small skillet over medium heat, warm 1 TB olive oil.  Cook the green onions 1 minute.  Add the garlic, jalapeno, and cumin.  Cook for 30 seconds.  Transfer to a large bowl.<br />
2.  Add the beans to the bowl; mash with a fork leaving about 1/4 of the beans whole.  Season with salt and pepper.<br />
3.  Fold in the grated sweet potatoes, egg and bread crumbs.<br />
4.  Divide into 8 equal patties.<br />
5.  Brush a baking sheet with 1 TB olive oil.  Place the patties on the baking sheet, 1/2 inch apart.  Broil for 8 to 10 minutes.  Turn patties over and broil 3 more minutes.  Serve with lime sour cream.</p>

Vegan Recipe</p>
<p>Prep. Time:  15 minutes<br />
Cooking Time:  25 minutes</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong><br />
1 cup of mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts, Brazil nuts)<br />
1 cup sunflower seeds<br />
1 cup cashew nuts<br />

4 ripe avocados<br />
1/2 cup lime juice<br />
3 garlic cloves, crushed<br />
2 TB olive oil<br />
1/2 ts salt<br />
1/4 ts pepper<br />
1 cup shredded cheese<br />
1 cup roma tomatoes, diced<br />
1/2 cup onions, chopped<br />
1/4 cup sliced jalapenos<br />

If you are not attending or throwing a party this weekend, save these posts for when you do. For starters, letÅ› start with Slow Cooker Chili. Ingredients: 8 strips of bacon, chopped 1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. ground pork 28 oz. can stewed tomatoes 1 &#8211; 16oz. can tomato sauce 1 &#8211; 6oz. can tomato paste 2 &#8211; 16 oz. cans kidney beans 2 cups carrots, chopped 1 onion, chopped 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup celery, chopped 1 cup green pepper, chopped 1 TB chili powder 1 ts salt 1 TB cumin 1 ts black pepper 1 TB Worchestershire 2 ts Franks hot sauce 1 ts cayenne pepper 1 ts paprika 1 ts brown sugar Directions: 1. Cook bacon in skillet until crisp. Remove to paper towel to drain. 2. Brown beef and pork in bacon drippings in skillet. 3. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. 4. Cover. Cook on LOW 9-10 hours. <p>New Year&#8217;s Party Appetizers:</p>

<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>

3 cups egg salad (your own recipe)<br />
1/3 cup green onions (chopped)<br />
1/3 cup carrot (shredded)<br />
2 tomatoes, chopped<br />
fresh parsley for garnish</p>
<p><strong>Directions:</strong></p>
<p>1.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.<br />
2.  Coat one side of each wonton wrapper with nonstick cooking spray.<br />
3.  Take the wonton wrappers and gently press the coated side down into miniature muffin cups.<br />
4.  Bake the wontons for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown.<br />
5.  Remove wontons from oven and place on wire racks to cool.<br />
6.  Combine the egg salad, onions and carrot and mix well. Stir in the bacon.<br />
7.  Spoon about 1 Tablespoon of the egg salad into each wonton cup.<br />
8.  Complete by garnishing each cup with the cut tomatoes and a little parsley.</p>

<strong>Seasoned Pecans</strong><br />
<strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<p>4 teaspoons kosher salt<br />
1/2 teaspoon cayenne<br />
1 teaspoon white pepper<br />
1 teaspoon nutmeg<br />
1 teaspoon ground cloves<br />
1 teaspoon allspice<br />
4 cups pecan halves<br />
1/4 cup butter &#8211; melted<br />
1/3 cup molasses</p>
<p><strong>Directions</strong></p>
<p>1.  Preheat oven to 350Â°.<br />
2.  In a medium bowl, combine salt, cayenne, white pepper, nutmeg, cloves and allspices.<br />
3.  Add the pecans and toss well to coat.<br />
4.  Drizzle melted butter oven pecans and mix well.<br />
5.  Spread out onto a rimmed baking sheet, scraping any spices and butter from the bowl and spreading the nuts into a single layer.<br />
6.  Bake until lightly toasted, stirring occasionally for approximately 9 minutes.<br />
7.  Drizzle molasses over the nuts, stir and bake for another 10 minutes or until the nuts turn glossy and slightly dark.<br />
8.  Allow to cool on the pan.<br />
9.  Pour into a bowl and break apart any large clumps or clusters.</p>
<p>Black-eyed Pea Dip</p>

Black-eyed Pea Dip</strong></p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<p>1 can (16 ounces) black-eyed peas,drained<br />
3 green onions, chopped with tops<br />
1/2 cup sour cream<br />
1 tsp. garlic salt<br />
1/2 cup salsa<br />
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled</p>
<p>1.  Reserving 1/3 cup, place peas in a blender.<br />
2.  Process until smooth. Blend in onions, sour cream and garlic salt.<br />
3.  Transfer to a bowl and stir in reserved peas and bacon.<br />
4.  Serve with tortilla chips, bagel chips or corn chips. </p>

<strong>Purple Forgiveness</strong></p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong><br />
32 Ounces of Ginger Ale<br />
32 Ounces of Grape Juice<br />
12 Ounces of Cranberry juice<br />
12 Ounces of Vodka.</p>
<p><strong>Directions:</strong><br />
1.  Two or three nights before the party fill a freezer safe small pot or plastic bowl with cool water. You want to make sure the pot or bowl is at least 8 inches, and fill it at least 3 inches deep.  Put in freezer.<br />
2.  Make sure all of the juice and ginger ale is chilled in the fridge at least 12 hours before the party.<br />
3.  About 20 minutes before the party mix all the ingredients together in a large punch bowl.<br />
4.  Next, run warm water over the bottom of the pot that you froze water in to loosen the ice ring.<br />
5.  Once the ice ring is out of the pot or bowl, place it into the center of your punch, and let it float around. </p>
